Activity and Fun Things for Kids! - Q1 2024

Hey!! So I was sitting here thinking about how to share some of the things we have found or done that are perfect for kids! And I de used maybe a quarterly post, not too soon and also not a long span either. I think four times a year is good, your thoughts!?!?

Alright let’s start! It will be a picture, link to either a video of it and/or where to get one and short description of it and how my kids liked it. This will be probably longer than I will do since I have other unpublished posts with ideas right now, so I will lump them together here.

1.   Dollar store items usually are able to keep the kids entertained for at least half an hour.

2.   Crafts for craft stores - here we have Hobby Lobby and Michaels, where we can by little craft packages that contain various small crafts including pompom crafts, toilet paper roll crafts, pipe cleaner crafts, stained glass art, sand art, wood crafts, ceramic crafts and so many more! Amazon even has so many! Mindware on Amazon also has so many activities for kids!

3.   Science activities - while this is either more for older kids, if you are able to help, any age they can benefit from these activities!

4.   Book stores - check out your local bookstores for reading programs! We have one here that does 10 book reports a month earn them $10 for new books (used bookstore). Our favorites are for girls and for boys!

5.   Inflatable ball wars! (Video of the kids here). But these basically are blowups the kids put around then then run into each other. These are the ones we have.

6.   Splatter paint rooms: We did not take our kids to one, but the husband and I went to one (video here) and for Logan's birthday, we tarped a room off and let the kids do one in the house with his classmates! This was a ton of fun and you can see the timelapse here

7.   Coloring activities: We do not really use coloring books anymore but we have moved to color by numbers! Between the regular ones and the ones with maths, the kids are really enjoying them!

8.   Outdoor activities: We grabbed some bug themed glasses, a net, a bug catcher and went bug hunting!  Amazon has so many different activities that are specifically for outdoors! A lot of them are also educational!

9.   Board Games: We have so many games in the house it is hard to keep track of them all. The kids love to play some by themselves as well as we play as a family! A few they have really loved are Minecraft games, the Fairy Game or even a bit more coop and challenging was Zombie Kids! There are so many different board or card games to get your littles thinking and working together.
