Where It All Began

Steven and I met on December 8, 2011 at Club Myst in Scottsdale, Arizona. I  was at the club with my friend, my sister and her friends. Steven was with one of his friends, Colin, in which they were in line behind us. In line my sister, Tori, fell off the curb. Being gentlemen as they were asked if she was alright. Of course my sister is clumsy, it runs in the family. We all introduced ourselves and were hanging out before we were able to get into the club. I learned that Steven and Colin were waiting to hear back form the Chandler-Gilbert Police Academy. With that being said, we talked about how I was in the police explorer program back home in California and that Tori was going to school for something along the lines of police investigation. Instantly clicking with the major interest Steven and I shared, we continued to talk about it until we were inside the club. After splitting up and doing our own thing, we eventually met again outside and started all hanging out again. After a while we went back into the club and all danced and headed back outside for some air. As the night went on we all got to know each other better. Tori and my parents were going out of town that weekend so we decided to invite Steven and Colin over as well. After getting their numbers, we had all called it a night and left.

After I had gotten home I texted both Steven and Colin saying it was nice to meet them and we hope to see them on Friday night.Steven and I then kept talking from there. I remember being at work and receiving a message from Steven and went to the back to respond. We talked about everything from family to growing up and interests to guns. We kept texting all day and all night. As Friday night rolled around, Steven and Colin had come over to the kick-back Tori and I were having. We all hung out, had some drinks and had some fun. Over the next few days we kept talking and all of a sudden Steven stopped responding. So I was like guess he does not want to talk. So as it got closer to Christmas, our parents were going to California. So Tori and I decided to have another kick-back and invite Colin and Steven. They arrived separately, and when Tori found out Steven had a motorcycle, and that she has never been on one before, she asked Steven if he could take her for a ride. Steven said he left his phone in his work locker and that is why he did not respond for a while. Playing beer pong, Steven and I were hanging out. After a few times that I missed the ball and he had picked it up and not given it back I knew that there was something between us. He would take that ping pong ball and hold it out in front of him and every time I reached for it, he would pull it back farther and farther. The next couple days we talked not too much since it was Christmas and we were with our family.

But on December 27, 2011, my friend, Kim, and I were walking the mall hanging out when I received a text from Steven asking if I wanted to go out to dinner with him that night. Of course I said yes, and then Kim and I called it a day so I could go home and get all ready for the night. We talked a bit before he picked me up because we were both getting ready. When Steven told me that he was picking me up on his motorcycle, I asked my parents about it. Never before that moment have I ever been on the back of a motorcycle. When Steven picked me up at 6 pm, he met my parents and we talked for a few minutes before heading to dinner. Steven took me to Chili's, and after a three hour dinner, we decided to go back to my house and watch a movie I got for Christmas and have not had the time to watch it, Mr. Popper's Penguins. After we watched the movie, we watched some TV for a while. When it was 2 am, we called it a night. As I walked Steven to the door, we talked and kissed. Steven said, and I quote, "I would like another night like this." And I responded, "me too." And that moment, we started dating.

From there on, we started going out.
