Handprint Cactus Craft

 


This is a simple and quick one! Takes less than 30 minutes to prep and complete! You can do either paint or construction paper like we did! (If you do paint, use white paint to make the cactus markings when dry)

What you need:
- piece of plain paper, green Constuction paper (we use two shades) and a brown piece of paper
- glue stick
- white colored pencil
- #2 pencil for tracing
- scissors 
- watch the tutorial video!


Directions:
1. start by tracing your child's hand on the green construction paper, we made 4 but used 3
2. cut out the hand prints and cut out pots for the cactus to sit in
3. draw designs on the cactus (stars, dots, lines, x's) using the white colored pencil
4. glue the cactus down, then glue to pot covering a bit of the bottom.

Rosella's Pregnancy

I always knew I wanted another baby. I have always wanted one boy and one girl. Eighteen months apart, a boy first. It was how I always pictured my future. So after the issues getting pregnant with Logan, I decided to try something more natural. So I took supplements that helped regulate women's hormones, which was what I needed. I know I did not go into details but it took us about 18 months to get pregnant with Logan after taking progesterone pills for 6 months. So back to this pregnancy, I decided natural supplements , with ovulation predictor kits and temping. Unlike with Logan, Rosella's pregnancy was more "planned" if you will. I was trying what I could to get pregnant without seeing my doctor. I knew exactly when my body would ovulate based on the tests and my temperature. So when I was 12 days past ovulation (DPO) , I took a pregnancy test... lets be honest I started like 8 days (which it usually takes 6-12 days to begin producing HCG if you are pregnant

Creamy Spaghetti: Recipe

Creamy spaghetti is one of my favourite spins on traditional spaghetti. While I do not really like tomato sauce, this replaces it with a creamy sauce. My husband is not too fond of it; he doesn't care for pasta; but between the kids and I, we love it!  Ingredients:  1 to 1 1/2 pounds of ground mild Italian sausage  1 bell pepper diced 1/4 onion diced 1 tbsp minced garlic 2 tsp Italian seasoning  10 oz can of fire roasted tomatoes (or mild tomatoes if you don't want the spice) 3 cups chicken broth or stock 10 oz dried spaghetti  pinch of black pepper pinch of salt 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream 1/2 mozzarella cheese  Directions: Heat the olive oil in a medium pan Combine the bell pepper and onion in when the oil is warm for two minutes, then add the garlic Mix in the Italian sausage until it is brown.
