The Polar Express

Here in Arizona, we don’t get snow down in Phoenix, but up north in Flagstaff, it does. Over the last few years, we’ve seen stuff about a polar express train up there and we decided the kids were finally old enough to go. Logan was six and Rosella was four. So we took our trailer up to the campground up there, and my mum, as well as my sister and her husband rented a cabin at the same campground. We booked our tickets for the Saturday following Thanksgiving so me and the kids and my husband drove up on Friday black Friday. My mum sister and her husband drove up Saturday.

As we were driving up, we noticed a deer farm where you could feed and pet deer. So naturally we stopped because I always have to stop these kind of places. The experience we had at the deer farm was phenomenal. We got to be the day are they wanted around they followed us we could put them there. We had other animals too, but they had so many deer. The kids absolutely loved, feeding the deer and being able to pet them.

When we finally got to our campsite, we got a nice upgrade so that was lovely, and then we kind of just hung around the campground until the next day. So when my mum sister and her husband arrived early the next morning, they got their stuff done and then came over and we went back to the deer farm so they could see. This time, however, they had Santa Claus with an actual reindeer, antlers and all! We got some amazing pictures.

After that, we went into Williams and wondered around the town. we did some shopping. We got some food and we grabbed our tickets for tonight. The tickets were gone just like you would see in the book.

So now it’s time to get to the station and get ready to ride the polar express! We do some of the activities we meet Santa the kids do their Christmas list. We get some hot cocoa and it’s cold like really cold. We finally get in line to board our train car. And if you haven’t read the book, I recommend you do! We get on, we situate our seats so that way we can see each other get the windows open and just get comfy. And yes we are that family that are all just in the same outfits but there were a lot of people like that.

We leave the station and we’re looking out the window we leave the town we get into the darkness and they read the book and they do little acting skits. Give you hot, cocoa and cookies and it’s just a magical event. It feels like you are in the book. So once we get towards the north pole, we can see Santa’s workshop and Santa is out there with an elf waving at us as we drive-by and then pass it around so we come back the same way we came and Santa is gone. But then a little later Santa shows up in the car with you. And the kids absolutely loved it. You’ve got a little bell just like Santa give the girls and boys in the book.

I highly recommend if you ever get a chance to take the polar express!!!
