Family Trip to San Diego 2018

Rosella just hit her due date and was 2 months old and Steven and I had the time off work due to parental leave, so we decided to take a nice family vacation. Somewhere where the kids can go, or at least Logan can have fun. So we decided SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, LegoLand and SeaLife Aquarium. Logan loves animals as do I and LegoLand is for kids.

Day 1 - SeaWorld. A ton of walking (granted that was the whole trip) and seeing all the marine life. Logan absolutely loved seeing all the animals and even more so when they were interacting with him. He was very excited with all the movement of the different animals. Surprisingly he did so well without a nap, but fell asleep the minute we drove back towards the hotel. Logan would run towards the different tanks because the marine life would be swimming around and it would catch his eyes. His favorite words were wow and ohh. He liked to point out all the moving animals, which was mostly everything. As expected Rosella slept most of the time. The weather was not too bad and a bit overcast with a light breeze so we did not over heat.

Day 2 - San Diego Zoo. Logan was not as enthusiastic as when we were looking at land animals than he was with the marine life but at least I enjoyed myself. Logan pointed out at some of the animals.  It has been so long since I was at the zoo. It was a bit warmer and sunnier. I did however drop my phone and shatter the screen protector.

Day 3 - LegoLand. Logan loved riding on the rides he could go on. Since he is already tall as is, he hit the height requirement but some of them needed you to be at least 4 years old. So he could not ride on those ones but that was ok. (Wish we would have known prior though) There were a few rides we all were able to go on together and some where only one of us went with Logan. But it was still a blast.

Day 4 - LegoLand. SeaLife and the water park. OMG Logan loves the water park. He loves water in general but this was a whole new level of fun for him. We took turns going with him since Rosella was sleeping and just a wee little one who had to stay in her stroller. We did spend more time in the water park than the amusement park and aquarium though since Logan pretty much dictated where we went and when we went. HE loved the part where they had the motion touch screen and he would run along it and the water would ripple in the projection.

Overall, the vacation was wonderful. We had a lot of fun and made so many great memories. We were unable to visit the beach or do anything else. The kids were passed out by the time we drove by the beach about 10 minutes after we got in the car. Maybe in the future we will make it back to Carlsbad and do some of the other things they had to offer.
