One Year Anniversary

To celebrate our one year anniversary, we decided to go to Vegas. The night before we left, we had the "top layer" of our wedding cake. (Actually, the place we got our cake from makes a small anniversary cake for certain anniversaries, so it was not actually frozen, but it was fresh.) We cut the cake with our cake cutting set from the wedding and shared the moment with my parents and sister.

The next day, we headed out to Vegas. Upon arrival to our hotel, Treasure Island, Steven booked me a few hours at the spa for a Swedish massage, shower body exfoliation and hydrotherapy bath. So pretty much when we arrived in our room, I unpacked then headed straight to the spa. Steven, on the other hand, went to the casino to gamble. (He actually won pretty good amount of money too.) After spending 5-hours at he spa, I headed back to the room to quickly get changed into something more, dinner appropriate, as we headed to S&W steakhouse for our dinner reservations.

The next morning, we got ready, grabbed some donuts and headed to walk the strip. Of course we stopped in every casino we passed to play a bit. We made it about half way down the strip before I started feeling really nauseous. We ended up heading back to out hotel to hang out and gamble there in case I just wanted to go lay down. For dinner we ended up doing room service since the buffet was very crowded when we walked by it.

On Sunday morning, we planned to take The Deuce to Fremont Street and hang out there all day and also see the Mob Museum. We stopped on the way for breakfast at Denny's since neither one of us wanted donuts again. We walked around, gambled a little but the whole time, I did not feel well. We stayed inside The Golden Nugget for a while and gambled. I actually won a good amount at that casino. As we headed towards The Mob Museum, it started to drop a rain drop here and there. When we stood in line, all of a sudden I felt terrible and sick to my tummy. We got out of line and headed back to the bus stop to get me back to the hotel. But of course, it started to rain. (This was our anniversary day and it rained just like it did at our wedding,) When we got back to the hotel I went straight up to the room and passed out. I ended up having the flu. Steven gambled for a bit then came up to the room to check on me. He wanted to go eat snow crabs at the buffet but unfortunately, I was unable to go anywhere except to the bathroom without feeling like I was going to pass out. I ordered room service and Steven went to the buffet. That was how we spent our anniversary dinner.....

Monday morning we packed up and left to head back home. All in all it was a fun trip even if I did get the flu while we were on vacation. But hey, there is always next year!

  1. There is absolutely nothing more luxuriously romantic than to spend your anniversary in Vegas. It seems like you and your beau had a great time, and that's what's most important. Happy anniversary to the both of you! I hope you get to enjoy more fun and romantic getaways like that. All the best! :)
