Buying Our House

After the wedding we had decided to look for our own house to purchases. We looked and looked for different houses all over the valley. We fell in love with a few but since we were not pre-approved yet, there was nothing we could do. We waited to head back on the status for one loan. When it took too long, we just ended up going somewhere else that was able to give us an answer within a day.

It was exciting looking through houses figuring out what we wanted and what we did not like. Though it was tough trying to figure out what was a want and what was a need. It took a little bit of arguing to come to terms on everything that we needed. Steven wanted a backyard that he could fix up and make our own and a garage he could turn into a work space while I wanted to make sure there was a large enough kitchen, a large master closet, carpet, and a few other things.

The day that we walked through the Parkwood Ranch house, we had seen a few others prior to it and had a few more after it. Steven's grandma was kind enough to come help us look at the houses. On the last house for that day, we sat and decided that I was going to call my parents for them to come view the Parkwood Ranch house. Since it was in their neighborhood, they were able to come down within a few minutes. They loved it and saw a lot of potential in the house and found it to be a wonderful house that we could grow into.

After they saw the house, we all went back to my parents house plus or Realtor. We discussed what the next steps in the process were and decided to wait until Monday before we put an offer in. And let me tell you! That was the longest weekend of my life. I did not want this house to slip through our fingers.

Monday came and we were informed that no other offers had been submitted so we sent our's in. With a little back and forth with the offer, they accepted it! We were excited.

During the time after the accepted offer and the signing, there was more back and forth the put a lot of stress on me. When we finally all came to an agreement, my stress was lifted. Then we just had to wait until the closing date! Which that could not come soon enough!

The house closed on September 15 2013 and I went straight to grab the keys. That night Steven and I went over to change all the locks! And then we became home owners!!!!
