The Honeymoon: To Califonia

So for our honeymoon, we decided to go to my home area, Southern California. We got 5 day city passes that included, one day at Universal Studios Hollywood, three day park hopper tickets with one magic morning tickets to Disneyland/California Adventures, and one day to Sea World San Diego. We took or honeymoon from Saturday March 1, directly after the wedding until Sunday March 9.

It all started as our friends and family celebrated our marriage by seeing us off for the first night as husband and wife. We got into the limo and headed into Phoenix to our hotel. After staying at the Westin, it has become a regular place we stay to get away. But any who, we got room service and rested up from all the excitement from the wedding and for the first full day of our honeymoon. So the next morning after we got up and got all ready, we hit the road to Hollywood. On the way to California, we passed my best friends, Kassey, Heather & Ted driving back home. Also as I was driving like 80 mph or so, Steven said to me and I quote, "even those old people are passing us!" So as I look at the car that is passing us, I notice that its my grandparents! Passing us. On the freeway. So I speed up to get next to them and we stare at them until the notice us. Finally they see us and we all wave. So I called my grandma but she did not answer the phone. So we just keep driving. We the stop in Quartzsite, AZ for gas. The my grandma calls back. We plan to meet at the casino as we get into Indio, CA. We meet up with them and we gamble and eat lunch. Noticing it is getting late and we still have about a 2 hour drive into LA, we get going.

Finally we get to LA and drive to our hotel. This place was ghetto, I mean GHETTO. we get checked in finally and into the room. We decide a nice dinner is in order and make a reservation for a Chinese restaurant. As we get ready and go, we are driving following the directions on the phone, we go right next to where the Oscars are going on, go figure. So as we are driving to the restaurant, Steven says "there's Ellen DeGeneres" and of course I look around frantically while attempting to navigate through all the traffic. And well I missed her and got mad at Steven for not taking a picture! But any who, we made it to the restaurant, at dinner and headed back home.

On Monday, March 3, we made it to Universal Studios Hollywood. We had a special pass to get us in front of the lines since it was our honeymoon, in which we used it on the Studio Tour thing. It was really fun to be able to view all the different sets and all. We walked around a lot since Steven does not have the best back and I do not do roller coasters well. But all in all it was a wonderful experience that I can always look back on since I have never been there before. The picture of the houses is form the set of Desperate Housewives and the other is, you guessed it, Bates Motel. We even got a little preview of the Bates Motel one.

After we left Universal Studios, we drove down to Anaheim to our hotel for Disneyland! Since it did not take us that long to get there, we decided to head to Downtown Disney and have a nice dinner. Since we spent 3 nights at Disneyland, I am not really sure exactly what and when we ate but all I know is that wine was at every dinner! Downtown Disney was a lot of fun but it was chilly outside for the night. After spending a fair amount of time there, we went back to our hotel.

The first day at Disney we spent all day in Disneyland. Since it was a week day and school was in session, there were like no waits in lines. And if there was, it was no more than 5-10 minutes! Which was amazing! We went on everything we wanted to. We actually ended up leaving about 5 pm, got dinner in one of the Disney restaurants and then headed back to the hotel for the night. The next morning we headed to California Adventures. In which we received 6 fast passes for any ride and time for today and 6 more for the next day as well as $50 in food vouchers in increments of $5! This was an amazing gift Disney gave to us! It was truly amazing! So with those it actually was hard to use because it was not like we were waiting that long at all to get on a ride. We ended up at some points when there was a long line, asking if others wanted to use our fast pass with us since it was good up to 6 people. So we made the most out of our trip ass well as spreading the joy to others. The third day we ended up park hopping and just revisiting some of our favorites.

After Disneyland, we headed down the coast to San Diego. We ended up stopping at the beach to walk around since I miss the beach. Upon arrival to our hotel, we decided to go to a casino. Let me tell you. This casino was amazing! They had a non-smoking section, drinks and cookies were free. After a while of gambling, we decided to get some food and head back to the hotel. since it was still early in the evening, we decided to go down to the beach for a nighttime walk. Once we got back to our hotel, we just got ready for bed.

The next day we got ready and went to SeaWorld! We watched some of the shows and got to pet some of the animals. Then, Steven surprised me with the "animal encounters tour" for the penguins! My favorite animals. This tour included going behind the scenes where they study then little ones and then we even got to pet a penguin! Which was amazing! Then to top it all off, we got to walk into their exhibit. Though it was pretty cold, I was excited to be standing behind the glass with the penguins! This was truly amazing that Steven did this for me. After we finally finished at SeaWorld, we went back to the hotel to spend our last night on our honeymoon. Sunday we drove back home to AZ.
